Planet Earth Singers is a Non-Profit 501(c)3 corporation formed by a group of volunteer singers of diverse backgrounds, who meet twice a month to rehearse international music for performance in Muncie Indiana and beyond.
We rehearse on the first and third Tuesdays of the month from 7- 9 p.m., from September to April, at College Avenue United Methodist Church in Muncie, IN. Currently with a membership of 60 singers, the group has openings in all sections for the next season.
The ensemble has no auditions, but placement in the group is determined by the conductor. It is open to all advanced high school students, college students and adults. A limited number of scholarship positions offer an honorarium for participation.
Dr. Douglas Amman, Conductor, had a dream for this ensemble for several years. In Fall of 2004, after his retirement from Ball State University, he started the group with the help of many other people. The ensemble was formed to bring together people of diverse backgrounds to enjoy and share music of the master composers and the fine multi-cultural/world music available in the 21st century.
